Signatures are the last step, not the whole job

Most e-signature tools start when you already have a finished PDF. Someone wrote it, someone else approved it in an email thread, and the signing tool only collects names at the bottom. Signee is contract management software where signing sits inside the same flow as drafting and approval, so the version that goes out is always the version your team agreed on.

You place signature, initials, date and text fields on the document, pick who signs first, and press send. Each signer gets an email link, opens the agreement in the browser, accepts the consent to electronic records, and signs on a laptop or phone. Nobody needs an account or an app.

When the last person signs, Signee flattens the PDF, attaches the certificate and files the agreement in your repository. The renewal date and notice period are read from the text right away, which is where tools built only for signing stop and Signee keeps going.

Is an e-signature from Signee legally binding

In the United States, the ESIGN Act and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act give electronic signatures the same effect as handwritten ones for most business contracts, provided the signer intends to sign and agrees to do business electronically. In the European Union, eIDAS says an electronic signature cannot be refused as evidence just because it is electronic.

Signee provides simple electronic signatures and, through email authentication and the hash chained audit trail, the evidence that supports them. It does not issue qualified electronic signatures, and a few document types (wills, some family law and real estate matters, court orders) still need wet ink or a qualified signature. Developers can run the same flow without the editor. The e-signature API creates an agreement from a template, sends it, and posts a webhook to your system when it is signed, declined or about to expire.

Electronic signature questions

Do signers need a Signee account
No. Signers open the agreement from the email link, accept the consent to electronic records and sign in the browser. Only the people who send agreements need a seat in your workspace.
How many documents can I send for signature
Starter includes 30 documents sent per month, Business 150 and Company 600. Usage counts when a document is sent, and deleting it later does not give the quota back.
Can signers sign on a phone
Yes. The signing page adapts to small screens, fields are large enough to tap, and a signature can be drawn with a finger or typed.
What does the audit trail certificate contain
Every event on the agreement with a timestamp: sent, opened, consent accepted, signed, declined, along with the signer email and IP address. Events are chained by hash so later changes are visible.
Is this a qualified electronic signature
No. Signee provides simple electronic signatures with strong evidence. Where the law requires a qualified electronic signature or a notary, use a qualified trust service provider for that document.
Can I set the order in which people sign
Yes. Signers can sign one after another, all at the same time, or in groups, and you can change the order until the first person signs.
