Why teams look for something else
DocuSign is the best known name in electronic signatures, and many counterparties have signed through it before. That recognition is real, and for a team that only needs to collect signatures on finished PDFs, it is a solid choice.
The search for an alternative usually starts somewhere else. The contract still has to be written in a word processor, approved over email and copied from the CRM. After signing, the renewal date sits inside a PDF that nobody opens again. And per user pricing grows every time another person needs to send agreements.
Signee is contract management software that covers those steps around the signature. You describe the deal in one sentence, get a draft with the key terms filled in, route it to approvers by rule, send it for signature, and get an alert before the notice deadline.

What the pricing difference looks like for a team
Take a team of ten people who send agreements. On per user pricing, ten seats on a plan listed at 30 USD per user a month billed annually come to 300 USD a month at the time of writing, before any envelope overage. On Signee Business, ten users are included for 74 USD a month billed yearly, or 149 USD month to month, with 150 documents sent per month.
The comparison is not only about price. A team that sends a few agreements a week and never drafts its own contracts may get everything it needs from a signature tool. The full plan breakdown is on the contract management software pricing page, including what each plan counts and how usage resets.
Where DocuSign is the better fit
If your counterparties insist on a familiar signing experience, if you need only signatures on documents written elsewhere, or if a low priced entry plan is all you need, DocuSign is a reasonable choice. Signee also does not issue qualified electronic signatures, so documents that legally require one need a qualified trust service provider.
