Document generation
Document assembly software for contracts and proposals
Document assembly software builds a finished contract or proposal from a template, a set of variables and data you already have. In Signee you mark the variables once, such as party names, fee, term and notice days, fill them by hand or from CRM fields, and send the assembled document for electronic signature without leaving the editor.
- Templates with typed variables
- Fill by hand, from CRM or by API
- Missing fields caught before sending
- Send for signature in the same flow

From copy and paste to assembled documents
Most teams create contracts by opening last month's agreement, saving it under a new name and replacing the old customer's details. It works until someone misses one mention of the old company in clause 14, or keeps last year's price in the payment schedule. Document assembly removes that risk: the template holds the approved text, and only the variables change.
A variable in Signee has a type. A date is a date, an amount has a currency, a notice period is a number of days and a party is a company with an address and a signer. Because each variable is typed, Signee can check that nothing is empty or malformed before the document leaves, and it can read the same values back later for renewal alerts.
Not every agreement starts from a template. For a new kind of deal, the AI contract generator drafts the first version from one sentence, and you can save the result as a template for next time. Ready made starting points sit in the contract templates library.

What you get
Document assembly built for agreements
Templates, variables and sending live in one place, so the document you assemble is the document that gets signed.
Templates with variables
Turn any agreement into a template. Mark the parts that change and give each one a type, a label and an optional default value.
CRM data merge
On Business and Company, map CRM fields to variables, so a new agreement opens with the customer, contacts, price and dates filled in.
Optional clauses
Include or skip whole clauses with a switch, such as a data processing addendum only for customers that need it.
Missing field check
Empty or malformed variables are highlighted, and the document cannot be sent for signature until they are filled.
Generate by API
Create a document from a template with a JSON payload of variables from your own product. Business and Company plans.
Send in the same flow
Signing order, reminders and expiry are set in the same screen. No exporting, no uploading into a separate signing tool.

Assembly for proposals and bulk sends
Assembly is not only for contracts. A proposal with a pricing table and optional line items is built the same way, and the accepted proposal becomes the agreement. See proposal software for how quotes turn into signed contracts.
When one document has to go to many people, such as an updated policy or a price change addendum, the Company plan sends it in bulk. Each recipient gets their own copy with their own variables, and each copy has its own audit trail.
For teams that create agreements from their own product, the contract API takes a template id and a set of values and returns a document ready to send. It fits naturally into wider contract automation, where approvals and post signature steps run on rules.
How it works
Assemble a document in four steps
-
1
Pick a template
Start from your own template, a library template or an AI draft saved as a template.
-
2
Fill the variables
Type the values, pull them from the CRM deal or send them by API. Typed fields keep dates and amounts consistent.
-
3
Review the result
Read the assembled document in the editor and change any clause if this deal needs it.
-
4
Send for signature
Set the signers, their order, reminders and expiry, then send. The signed copy lands in the repository.
